Remembering Michael On June 25, 2014

Reflecting back to June 25, 2009: I could not believe what I was hearing on the news: that Michael Jackson was dead. Just like many fans all over the world, I was devastated and cried incessantly. How could this be? No, not Michael Jackson!! I felt like I was in a trance. This was not registering in my mind.

mj forever“And my goal in life is to give to the world what I was lucky to receive: the ecstasy of divine union through my music and my dance.”

Here is the text of a post I made in one of the forums at MichaelJackson.com back on July 27, 2009. I downloaded the post to my hard drive (as I did for many posts I made in the forums on MJ.com). I was glad to see that the link still works when I clicked on it today.

Re: The day the world stood still! To the ones who loved him and the one’s who hated him

I was on my way home from taking my granddaughter to Vacation Bible school and I heard a local radio DJ say that this was the hardest thing for him to say, that Michael Jackson was dead. I could not believe my ears. I kept saying, WHAT? Are you serious! I immediately called my sister and she said that she was watching it on CNN. It’s like time stood still literally. I just could not wrap my mind around this. I think I was in a state of shock, and still am actually. When I got home I turned on the TV and began flipping to all the news channels and the Internet.

OMG, I thought I was going to hyperventilate. It seemed so surreal that MICHAEL JACKSON was dead. His name did not belong in the same sentence with the word “death.” I will never forget that day as long as I live, nor will I forget the pain I felt at that very moment. I miss him so very much. It’s like Michael is another part of me, and I am feeling very lonely at times.

I am glad for this site so I can share my thoughts and feelings with others who love Michael Jackson. We are not alone; we have each other. As Michael sang in one of his songs when he was a young boy: “Where there is love, I’ll be there.” He is with us in our hearts and through his music.

A lot has happened in the intervening years since we lost our dear Michael, but my focus for this post is to honor his memory. Today, I went back and visited the MichaelJackson.com site. I have not been there in a while. I read over the forum posts that I have downloaded. I looked at the 1,000+ pictures that have of MJ. I viewed my two YouTube tributes that I made for Michael (see them at the bottom of this post). I pulled out a lot my MJ memorabilia that I have and looked through the many magazines and books. I cried as I held my movie ticket stub from “This Is It” and my ticket stub from the “Immortal” show in Vegas.

In these past few days, I have been on my personal trip back down memory lane with Michel. I have been a Michael Jackson fan ever since the song “Big Boy” was released back in 1968. I purchased roses in his memory via the One Rose for Michael J. Jackson Facebook group. I have written another poem for Michael in remembrance as we come upon the five-year point.

That fateful day in June 2009 totally rocked my world to an unbelievable magnitude. I think of MJ often and I pray for his children. My how they have grown up. I can still recall the sweet message that Paris shared with the world at her daddy’s memorial service: “Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine, and I just want to say that I love him so much.”

My Tribute Poem to Michael on The 5th Anniversary of His Passing

It has been five years now since that sad, sad day in June,
When we learned that our dear Michael, had left us far too soon.
We were devastated and tearful, not knowing what to do,
Our hearts were hoping against all odds, that this news would not be true.

June twenty-fifth two thousand and nine,
Will forever be emblazoned in our hearts and in our minds.
We miss you so much, Michael, your spirit fills our hearts,
We’ll hold on to your tender promise that we will never part.

As we prepare our tributes, for this fifth anniversary,
MJ, our hearts are bound in love, to honor your memory.
Your legacy is eternal, in all its splendor and grace,
In L.O.V.E. we come together for you, in a unified embrace.

All for L.O.V.E. ~ All for Michael ~ Sincerely, Essence54

I’ll Be There – Instrumental
I will have to say that this classic Jackson 5 song is near and dear to my heart. That is why I chose this song as the background for my first-ever tribute video to Michael. I love to just close my eyes and listen to his sweet voice singing, “Just call my name, and I’ll be there.” I believe he is there…in my heart forevermore.

Because You Loved Me
This is my second video tribute to Michael. He always told us that he loved us. And we LOVED him back. That is why I think that this song reflects the mutual love and respect that we shared with Michael. He spoke up for justice, he championed the causes of children all over the world, he encouraged us to keep the faith, heal the world, take a look in the mirror, and make that change. Because he loved us! I MJ

My World Is A Better Place

Michael taught us to heal the world, take a look at ourselves in the the mirror, make that change, hold each others hands, take care of our planet, stand up for injustice, and he reminded us that we are the world. Thank you Michael Joseph Jackson for being a part of our lives. As we celebrate your life and legacy, please know that you will ALWAYS be in our hearts. Thank you, MJ. Our world truly is a better place because of you. All for L.O.V.E. All for Michael

Michael, I Absolutely Love Your Smile!

Now, lets be perfectly honest here: Michael Jackson was endowed with some of the most delicious, provocative, sensual, charming, fine, sexy eye candy attributes. And he did justice to each and every one of them. Yes he did!! But there was always something  magical about his smile. It mesmerizes you and draws you into his world. From the days with the J5 and throughout his solo career, I have absolutely always loved his smile…especially when he does that lip-biting gesture or when he licks his lips. Mmmph. mmmph, mmmph! I MJ

Well, here is a composite picture I created of MJ’s smile as a young boy where he is biting on his lip while smiling, and the very same gesture in a smile during the BAD era!! Michael, I absolutely love your smile!

MJ I Love Your Smile“You’ll find that life is still worthwhile, if you just smile.”

The Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait

I know this topic keeps resurfacing every now and then, but I think it is  important that we keep it fresh and in the minds of the fans. I am DOT #235,878. My DOT is located in the portrait somewhere on Michael’s luscious upper lip!!  Mmmmm!

It amazes me that there are over 30 million Facebook “likes” of the www.MichaelJackson.com site, and yet the MJ portrait project only requires 1 million DOTS and we have not reached that magic number yet!! What is wrong with this picture, literally? The portrait was started some time in late 2009 and I would have expected that the portrait would surely be completed by now. It will be 2 sad years come June 25th that we lost our beloved Michael. How wonderful it would be if the Tribute Portrait could be finished by the 2nd anniversary.

Please spread the word that the portrait project still needs our help. This is part of Michael’s legacy that we, the fans, help to create and preserve and protect. Post this info on your FB page, website, or blog. Feel free to “tweet about it.” Just get the word out. Shamone, y’all. We can do this. Don’t let The Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait linger in limbo.

Got your DOT? Good! What’s your DOT #? If not, you can get your DOT right here –> http://www.michaeljacksontributeportrait.com/home.php

Cirque du Soleil: Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour – Las Vegas – December 2011

2/28/11 UPDATE: TICKETS.HAVE.BEEN.PURCHASED. I called TicketMaster and ordered my tickets because the seats I wanted would not come up online when I selected “Best Available” or Level 1 seating. I’m so excited. When the rep on the phone was confIrming my info and provided me with my order confirmation number, tears were streaming down my face. Bittersweet. I would much rather be going to concert to see MJ in person. But I know that Cirque du Soleil will do him much justice. Can hardly contain myself and i have 10 months ’til showtime. It will DEFINITELY be worth the wait. I love you Michael Joseph Jackson.
===========================================
This week I am buying my tickets to the Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour by Cirque du Soleil in Vegas!!! I’m so excited!!! I am so there. After I get the tickets, then I will start making my travel plans. As soon as I heard about the tour, it has been on my mind every day…just like I think about Michael every day. I will post an update to my blog after I get my show confirmation. Stay tuned.

I Am Still Crying

I miss you more and love you more than you will ever know,
I am still crying for you, Michael, oh how I miss you so.
I listen to your music every night and every day,
I am still crying for you Michael, the pain won’t go away.
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
My hearts goes all aflutter at the mere mention of your name,
I am still crying for you, Michael, things will never be the same.
I want you back, you are my muse, I wish that you were here,
I am still crying for you, Michael, my love, my darling dear.
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
I think about you all the time, and I love your sexy smile,
I am still crying for you Michael, and loving you all the while.
One day we’ll meet again, my sweet, in the heavens up above,
I am still crying for you Michael, I hope you can feel my love.

Judith Hill’s Tribute Song to Michael

I have heard this tribute song before but I came across it again this morning and thought I would share it. Such a bittersweet reminder of how Michael touched our lives, and yes, we will ALWAYS be missing him. Typing this post through buckets of tears and trying to smile even though my heart is breaking.

Honoring Michael with My Art

Here is my latest creation dedicated to Michael. I created this beautiful work of art using a Paint Shop Pro tutorial. I must say that I think I did a pretty good job on this! And I make that statement with a humble heart and with the inspiration that comes from the magic of Michael. As always, anything I do related to Michael is all for L.O.V.E. Enjoy!
